Ingenico iSC250/iSC480 terminal/device - issues before/during activation
Be sure that Port 9001 is open to allow communication with the device if you have a Firewall.
A system error has occurred while attempting to register the terminal
Means either incorrect date on device, internet connection disrupted, or bad activation code was input into MerchantTrack.
To Check Date if having issue activating device:
First reboot the device, press Clear (Yellow) key and Minus (-) key simultaneously for about 4 seconds to reboot the terminal.
During copyright/splash screen , Quickly in sequence Press 2, 6, 3, 4 and then Press Enter (Green) key
Once at the Main Menu, press the plus (+) button
(Note: Use the Minus (-) key to scroll down option selections, use the (+) key to scroll up option selections.)
On the next screen, Select Telium Manager then press the Enter (green) button.
On the next screen, Select Initialization then press the Enter (green) button.
On the next screen, select Parameters then press the Enter (green) button.
On the next screen, select Date and Time then press the Enter (green) button.
On the next screen, select Set Date then press the Enter (green) button.
On the next screen, click the Clear (Yellow) key, then enter today's Date using the Key Pad, then accept by pressing the Enter (green) button.
Now Reboot the device (press Clear (Yellow) key and Minus (-) key simultaneously for about 4 seconds) and now you should be able to activate the device in MerchantTrack.
Trouble Activating the device in MerchantTrack:
If Activation Code Starts with 'C' instead of 'P' - Get a new device. 'C' is used for Test devices only.
In very rare cases, if activation code was originally provided and then get a red error in MerchantTrack but the device itself goes to the TriPOS screen, but then cannot view the device in MerchantTrack, may have to contact development team to have them look into the logs with the processor and have them remove device, provide the development team the serial number from the device and all the names the merchant goes by (Legal/DBA/Identifier), once development has confirmed removal from the processor, then have merchant try again or activate for them in MerchantTrack when they get prompted for an activation code.
